Jesse Walter Gibbs was baptised on the 7th March 1897 at All Saints Church, Mackworth, the son of Thomas and Mary Gibbs. The 1901 census shows Jesse with his parents and 4 brothers and sisters living at The Vicarage, Markeaton. By 1911 Jesse has become an assistant gardener probably work alongside his father.
No record of his military service has as yet been found.
After the war in 1921, Jesse married Florence E Cherry.
Jesse died in 1965.
